As a local business in Cypress, we often get asked about the organizations we support. While we are proud of our laundry service, we are even prouder of our neighbors who are doing the hard work of “mending lives.”
One of the most impactful organizations in our region is Boys & Girls Country of Houston (BGC).
If you have driven past their campus or heard their name but aren’t quite sure what they do, we wanted to shine a light on their incredible mission.
What is the mission of Boys & Girls Country?
Located right here in Northwest Houston, BGC is a Christian home for children from families in crisis.
Unlike traditional foster care, where children may move from home to home, BGC provides a continuous, stable environment. Children live in cottages with trained “Teaching Parents” who raise them as their own—providing education, love, and spiritual guidance until they are ready to launch into adulthood.

Our business philosophy is simple: “A Shining Light.”
We believe that businesses should be stewards of their community. Our support for BGC is rooted in James 1:27:
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” (NIV)
By supporting our local church, we financially invest in the BGC mission because it aligns with our heart for people. We want to be like Sherpas, guiding people through difficult terrains toward a better future. BGC is doing exactly that for these children.

We encourage our neighbors in Jersey Village and Fairfield to get involved. BGC relies on the community to keep its doors open.
